Join Palatines to America

Join Palatines to America and the Pennsylvania Chapter to begin exploring your German heritage and accessing records here and at our national website. You might discover new information or connect with others researching the same lines. You can also share stories of how you discovered an ancestral village, broke through a brick wall, or where you’re currently stuck.

Benefits of membership include the Pennsylvania Chapter newsletter, The Penn Pal, published and distributed via email at least twice a year, and more frequently when the editor has sufficient content. Current and past issues are available in the “Members Only” section of this website. Members also receive access to other “Members Only” content, as well as discounts on Chapter and National seminars (in-person and virtual), conferences, and other events.

In addition, you will receive quarterly printed issues of the Palatines to America journal, The Palatine Immigrant, as well as access through the national PalAm (Palatines to America German Genealogy Society) website to their newsletter, Palatine Patter.

Pennsylvania Chapter membership is handled through the national Palatines to America system. An individual membership (National and one Chapter) for U.S. residents is $40.00 per year; family memberships (two people at the same U.S. address) are $45.00/year. Under either plan, you can add more Chapters for $8.00 each. The membership year runs October 1 - September 30.

Memberships for residents of other countries are slightly higher; see the membership form for details.

You can complete a membership form and pay your dues in two ways:
  • Visit the Join Us page on the national PalAm (Palatines to America) German Genealogy Society site.  Scroll down to the Membership Application Process section to find the membership category that applies to you.  Follow the link to select and pay with a credit card.

Direct any questions about the membership process to membership@pennpalam.org

Allow a few weeks for processing your membership application. We would love to hear your German genealogy research stories and see you at our Chapter activities.
